Popol Vuh is one of the most valuable legacies of pre-Hispanic Mayan thought with a historical and spiritual content. It is a narrative that tries to explain the origin of the world, civilization and the various phenomena that occur in nature. Written in the mid-16th century written in the Quiché language with Latin characters by an anonymous author, it was found in the early 18th century by the Dominican friar Francisco Ximénez, in Chichicastenango, Guatemala.
